No 206. A male child of 16 months. In this there were grey tubercles throughout all

the lobes of the right lung, but more in the upper then either the middle or lower)

in the left lung the upper lobe only was involved and contained several miliary and gray tuberoles, but rather less than in the right lung. On both sides the mediastinal glands were caseous and enfargol. As inthose just mentioned the spleen and meninges

ware both attacked and to a greater dægros than in the others.

Mọa 212 and Ml. These two,one male a d the other famle,of the same age of 5 years were very similar, the former had miliary tuberoles in the lower two lobes of the

right lung and the upper of the left; in the latter the right lung was composed of two lobes only and both contained millary tuberoles, while the left showed numerous tuberales throughout both lobes. In each caset the hilus glande on the right side were enlarged and exssous; in each also the spleen and meninges were affected, ba sal in both, but in the boy there were tuberoles also on the convexity and on the inter-

al aspects of the cerebral hemispheres.

No 122. A female child of l♬ months, showing enlarged and casecus modiastinal glands on the right side, while the lungs contained no focus, though there ware miliary tub- aroles in both, rather more in the middle and lower lobes of the right.

No 269, a child of 14 months, similar to No 160 already described.

No 073, A går1,6 years of age, with miliary tuberculosis of all the lobes of the right lung, and, to a less extent, the upper lobe of the left, me right paratrakheel glands were enlarged and casested. As in the other instances the spleen and basal

mwinges also showed tubercles.

No 278. A boy of 24 years. Both lungs were thickly and aqually studded with grey tuberoles, but no focus was found. There was a large caseated gland at the right hilus and a smaller ono at the laft containing caseating points. The eplem and mminges were affected as before, and in addition the cortex of each kidney, more particularly the right, contained sevemål tuberoles from miliary to pin-head in size. If these gray tuberoles in the lung be regarded as the primary broncho-pn«monia whenes the tubercles passed by the hamatogenous route to the meninges, kidneys and splem, why should the right hilus glands be enlarged and caseous although no focus was present in the corresponding area, while the left, showed but little involvement and the upper glande none at all ↑ Or,if the gland sondition on the right ma prier to the lung, and extension occurred from the gland to the air-passages,it is strange that both lunge should be equally affected. Possibly the extension may have beers from the gland to the blood-streem and so have given rise to generalisation by the bronchial and systemic vessels generally (brain, kidneyn, spleen), but then the
